7 Ways to Make Money on Social Media Without Showing Your Face

For the longest time, making money on social media seemed to come with one big requirement:

You had to become the content.

Film yourself talking.

Show your morning routine.

Talk to the camera while sitting in your car.

Share what you’re eating.

Share what you’re wearing.

Basically document your entire existence. 😂

And while that works beautifully for some people, it isn’t the only way.

I’m a stay-at-home mom, and I’ve built faceless quote pages on Instagram and Facebook, gotten monetized, and actually made money from content without making myself the face of my accounts.

That’s one of the reasons I love the faceless business model so much.

You can create something online while still keeping parts of your life private.

So if you’ve been wondering whether it’s actually possible to make money on social media without showing your face, the answer is yes, there are several ways to approach it.

But I want to be clear about something before we start.

This isn’t one of those “Do these seven things and you’ll make $10,000 next month!” posts.

Making money online takes work, and results vary.

Instead, think of this as your beginner roadmap: seven possible directions you can explore, plus a little guidance on deciding which one makes sense for you.

If you have Pinterest, would you mind saving this image for me? 😊

Can You Really Make Money Without Showing Your Face?

Yes.

Your face isn’t the thing that makes a business valuable.

Your content, audience, skills, products, and offers are.

Think about all the accounts you follow because they share:

Funny quotes.

Recipes.

Home organization.

Money-saving tips.

Motivation.

Tutorials.

Memes.

Travel inspiration.

You may have followed some of those accounts for years without knowing who’s behind them.

That’s a faceless brand.

And depending on the niche and business model, that audience can potentially be monetized in several ways.

Here are seven to consider.

1. Build a Faceless Instagram or Facebook Page

This one comes first because it’s what I personally have experience doing.

You can create a niche page where the content itself is the brand.

For example:

  • Motivational quotes
  • Motherhood humor
  • Relationships
  • Personal growth
  • Recipes
  • Home inspiration
  • Money-saving ideas
  • Business tips

Your content could include text-based Reels, graphics, quotes, carousels, B-roll, memes, or other original content.

You don’t need to appear on camera.

As your audience grows, you can explore monetization options that make sense for the page, including your own products, affiliate marketing, website traffic, partnerships, and eligible platform monetization opportunities.

I’ve personally been able to monetize faceless quote-page content on Instagram and Facebook.

That doesn’t mean every page will get monetized, but it does mean faceless doesn’t automatically mean unmonetizable.

2. Sell Digital Products

Digital products are another way to make money on social media without showing your face.

You create something digitally that helps solve a problem or gives your audience something useful.

That could include:

Ebooks, templates, printables, planners, workbooks, checklists, digital journals, social media templates, or guides.

You can then use faceless social media content to help the right people discover it.

The important thing is making sure your product fits your audience.

For example, MommaPrints is focused on faceless content and online business, which is why The Ultimate Faceless Creator Success Playbook makes sense here.

It’s not a random product I’m suddenly dropping into a completely unrelated page.

It’s the deeper resource for someone who has read my free content and thinks:

“Okay, I understand the basics. Now I want the bigger roadmap.”

That’s how I like to think about digital products.

Your free content helps.

Your paid product helps people go deeper.

3. Use Affiliate Marketing

You don’t need to create your own product to start exploring monetization.

Affiliate marketing lets you recommend another company’s product or service and potentially earn a commission when someone completes an eligible purchase or action through your affiliate link.

Faceless content works really well for this because you can create:

Product demonstrations

Hands-only videos

Tutorials

Screen recordings

Comparison posts

Resource lists

You could run a home-organization page and demonstrate storage products.

Or create Canva tutorials and recommend tools you actually use.

The key is trust.

Don’t turn your account into one endless stream of affiliate links.

Recommend things that genuinely fit your niche, and always properly disclose your affiliate relationship.

4. Send Social Media Traffic to a Blog

This is one I think more creators should consider.

Social media doesn’t have to be the final destination.

You can use Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or Pinterest to bring people to your website.

That’s part of what I’m doing with MommaPrints.

Someone might find one of my Pinterest Pins about faceless content.

They click through to a blog post like this one.

Then they might read another article.

Maybe they join my email list.

Maybe eventually they decide they want The Ultimate Faceless Creator Success Playbook.

The relationship doesn’t have to start and end with one social media post.

Depending on your business, a blog can eventually connect to digital products, affiliate marketing, services, email marketing, advertising, and other opportunities.

And unlike building everything exclusively on one social platform, your website gives your business a home outside the algorithm.

Want to Build Your Own Faceless Business?

If you’re reading these ideas thinking:

“Okay, but HOW do I actually put all of this together?”

That’s exactly why I created The Ultimate Faceless Creator Success Playbook.

This blog is meant to give you the beginner roadmap and help you understand what’s possible.

Inside the Playbook, I go deeper into building your faceless presence, creating content, growing your audience, monetization, digital products, and developing a more intentional faceless business.

You don’t need it to start posting.

But if you’re ready to move beyond collecting random tips and want the deeper how, it’s there for you.

Now let’s get back to the other ways you can potentially earn.

5. Offer a Service Through a Faceless Brand

You don’t necessarily need thousands of followers to make social media useful for your business.

Your account can help potential clients discover a skill you already have.

Depending on your experience, you might offer:

  • Pinterest management
  • Social media management
  • Graphic design
  • Virtual assistance
  • Copywriting
  • Content creation
  • Digital product design

Instead of making yourself the center of the account, create educational content around the problems your service solves.

A Pinterest manager, for example, could create faceless posts about Pinterest SEO, Pin design, keywords, and common mistakes.

People discover the helpful content.

They realize you know what you’re doing.

Then they discover you offer the service.

Simple.

6. Create Faceless Content for Brands

You don’t always need to build your own huge audience.

Some businesses need content.

If you enjoy filming products, editing short videos, designing graphics, or creating social media posts, you may be able to offer content-creation services to brands or businesses.

And depending on what the project requires, that content doesn’t necessarily need your face in it.

Think:

Product demonstrations.

Hands-only footage.

Unboxing videos.

Product close-ups.

Lifestyle B-roll.

Tutorial-style clips.

Graphics.

This is different from building a faceless theme page because you’re being paid for the content creation skill itself, rather than primarily monetizing your own audience.

If you’re creative but don’t necessarily want to become an influencer, it’s another path worth exploring.

7. Explore Platform Monetization

Depending on the platform, your location, account eligibility, content, and the monetization programs currently available, you may be able to earn directly through eligible creator programs.

I’ve personally experienced this with faceless content on Instagram and Facebook.

And yes, seeing a page you created actually start earning is pretty exciting. 😂

But I would never tell a beginner to build their entire business around platform payments.

Why?

Because platforms change.

Programs change.

Eligibility requirements change.

Algorithms definitely change.

So while platform monetization can potentially become an income stream, I’d rather think of it as one piece of a larger faceless business.

Build your audience.

But also consider your website.

Your email list.

Your digital products.

Your skills.

Your other income streams.

That way your entire business isn’t dependent on one platform continuing to do things exactly the same way forever.

Which Faceless Income Stream Should You Start With?

This is where people get overwhelmed.

You read a list like this and suddenly decide you need:

A faceless Instagram account.

Seven digital products.

A blog.

Affiliate links.

Five clients.

An email funnel.

And apparently you’re starting TikTok tomorrow too.

Please don’t. 😂

If you want to make money on social media without showing your face, start by choosing one primary direction.

Ask yourself:

Do I Want to Build an Audience?

Start with a niche faceless page and focus on content.

Do I Already Have a Skill?

Consider offering a service.

Do I Enjoy Creating Resources?

Explore digital products.

Do I Already Recommend Products Naturally?

Affiliate marketing may be worth learning about.

You don’t need your final five-year business plan today.

Choose a starting point.

Learn.

Then expand.

What Should You Post on a Faceless Account?

This is where a lot of beginners freeze.

You have the account.

You chose the niche.

And now you’re staring at a blank Canva page thinking:

Now what?

Start simple.

Create content around three things:

Help. Relatability. Connection.

Teach something useful.

Create something your audience relates to.

And give people a reason to connect with the page.

You could use:

Text Reels.

B-roll.

Quotes.

Carousels.

Screen recordings.

Tutorials.

Lists.

Checklists.

Memes.

You don’t need fancy equipment.

Your content just needs to give the right person a reason to stop scrolling.

Build an Audience Before Constantly Selling

If you want to make money on social media without showing your face, please don’t make every post about making money.

It sounds obvious, but it happens.

People follow because your content gives them something, not because they’re excited to see your next advertisement.

I like thinking about promotional content as a natural next step.

For example, I can give you free tips here about faceless social media.

Then if you decide you want the deeper strategy, I can point you toward my Playbook.

The free content still helped you whether you buy something or not.

That’s how I want my business to feel.

Helpful first.

Selling second.

You Don’t Need to Become an Influencer

This might be my favorite part of all of this.

Building an online income doesn’t automatically mean turning your personal life into content.

You can build around:

A topic.

A problem.

A skill.

An audience.

A product.

You can still have personality.

You can still tell stories.

You can still connect with people.

You just don’t have to put your face at the center of everything.

As a stay-at-home mom, that has made this type of business feel much more natural for me.

Final Thoughts

There isn’t one “best” way to make money on social media without showing your face.

The right path depends on what you’re good at, what you enjoy creating, and what kind of business you actually want.

You might build a faceless Instagram page.

Sell digital products.

Start affiliate marketing.

Drive traffic to a blog.

Offer a service.

Create content for brands.

Or eventually qualify for platform monetization.

You may even combine several of these later.

But don’t try to build everything on Day 1.

I started by creating.

Then I learned.

Then I grew.

Then monetization became part of the picture.

Start where you are.

You can build the rest as you go.

Ready to Build Your Faceless Business?

If you’re ready to go beyond the beginner roadmap, The Ultimate Faceless Creator Success Playbook is where I go deeper into the how.

I created it for beginners who want to learn more about building a faceless brand, creating content, growing an audience, exploring monetization, digital products, and turning social media into a more intentional online business.

My experiences are my own and results aren’t guaranteed. Social media growth, reach, monetization eligibility, sales, and income vary depending on your niche, audience, content, consistency, offers, platform policies, and other factors.
