I’m a stay-at-home mom, and one of the reasons faceless content worked so well for me is because I could build something online without making my face—or my family’s entire life. The content.
I’ve created faceless quote-page content on both Instagram and Facebook, grown my pages, gotten monetized, and actually made money doing it.
But I didn’t start knowing everything.
There was a lot of posting, testing, learning, changing things, and figuring out what people actually wanted to share.

A faceless Instagram account is simply an account where you aren’t the face of the brand.
Instead, the content revolves around a niche or topic.
You might post:
- Quotes
- Text-based Reels
- Carousels
- B-roll
- Memes
- Screen recordings
- Graphics
- Hands-only videos
- Tutorials
- Voiceovers
And faceless doesn’t mean boring.
Your personality can still come through in your writing, humor, design style, captions, and the way you connect with your audience.
People don’t necessarily need to recognize your face.
They can learn to recognize your content.
How to Start a Faceless Instagram Account From Scratch
You really don’t need to make this complicated.
If I were starting another faceless page today, I’d focus on these basic steps first.
1. Choose Your Niche
Before worrying about logos, fonts, or colors, decide what you’re going to talk about.
Some beginner-friendly faceless niches include:
- Motivational quotes
- Motherhood
- Parenting humor
- Relationships
- Self-love
- Recipes
- Productivity
- Home organization
- Digital products
- Money-saving tips
- Books
- Canva
- Online business

People love content that makes them think:
“OMG. This is literally me.”

2. Know Who You’re Creating Content For
This is something I wish more beginners thought about.
Don’t create content for “everyone.”
Ask yourself:
Who do I want following this page?
If you’re creating a motherhood page, maybe you’re speaking to exhausted moms who need to laugh.
If you’re creating a motivational page, maybe you’re speaking to women who need encouragement.
If you’re creating a faceless business page, maybe you’re helping beginners who want to make money online without becoming influencers.
Once you know WHO you’re talking to, figuring out what to post becomes much easier.
3. Create Your Instagram Brand
Now you can work on the fun stuff.
Choose a username that’s easy to remember and spell.
Then create a simple profile photo or logo and write a bio that explains what people will get from following you.
You don’t need to spend three days choosing between two shades of beige.
I say that with love. 😂
Your branding will evolve.
What’s more important is that someone can land on your page and quickly understand:
“Oh! This page is for me.”
4. Choose a Few Content Pillars
One thing that makes faceless content MUCH easier is having a few topics you regularly post about.
These are your content pillars.
For example, a faceless business page might have:

Digital Products
A motherhood page might have:

Emotional Motherhood
Parenting

How Do You Create Content Without Showing Your Face?
This is probably one of the biggest questions people have when learning how to start a faceless Instagram account from scratch.
And there are SO many options.
You can create:
Text Reels.
Use a simple video with relatable or educational text over it.
Quote graphics.
These work especially well for motivation, relationships, motherhood, and relatable niches.
Carousels.
Teach something through multiple slides.
B-roll Reels.
Film coffee, your laptop, typing, walking, journaling, cooking, your workspace, or anything relevant to your niche.
Screen recordings.
Perfect for tutorials, Canva, digital products, or educational pages.
You don’t need expensive equipment either.
A phone and a simple design tool like Canva can get you surprisingly far.
Start With Content, Not Followers
When you’re brand new, it’s very easy to obsess over the follower number.
I wouldn’t.
Instead, ask:
Am I creating something people want to share?
This has been especially important with the faceless quote pages I’ve worked on.
The best content often makes someone immediately want to send it to another person.
Think:
“My sister needs to see this.”
“This is SO my husband.”
“Why is this literally my life?”
That’s what you’re looking for.
Create for people. Not an algorithm.
Be Consistent Enough to Learn
You don’t need to post 12 times a day.
You also don’t need to quit because your first three posts didn’t go viral.
When I was building my pages, I learned by actually posting.
Some content worked.
Some absolutely did not. 😂
But every post gives you information.
Look at what gets:
- Shares
- Saves
- Comments
- Views
- Profile visits
- Follows
Then pay attention to patterns.
If one topic keeps performing better than another, that’s telling you something.
Create more of what your audience responds to.
Can You Make Money With a Faceless Instagram Account?
Yes, it’s possible.
I’ve personally been able to monetize faceless quote-page content on Instagram and Facebook.
But starting an account does NOT guarantee income.
That’s important.
Depending on your niche, audience, eligibility, and strategy, potential monetization options can include digital products, affiliate marketing, brand partnerships, services, website traffic, and platform monetization opportunities.
And this is where I think people sometimes make a mistake.
They focus so much on getting followers that they never think about what they’re actually building.
If making money is your goal, start thinking like you’re building a business, not just an Instagram page.
